We all know public speaking isn’t the easiest. But how about if you’re speaking and being funny? Here are a selection of some of our Inspiring Speakers Programme graduates best talks, which also have a good whack of humour in them.
Enjoy…
The Funny talks on this playlist are:
“The surprising truth of musical chairs”: Helen Thomas Whiteside
A masterful display of what’s possible with a simple metaphor, a spot of vulnerability and brilliant eye for the quirk – Helen’s talk is one of my favourites.
“Why to bite off more than you can chew”: Mike Doidge
A turning point in Mike’s fear of speaking, this talk was his announcement that he can speak with power… and be funny too! Great fun.
“Lightening the load”: Jane Knight
What happens if you ask a kleptomaniac to ‘travel light’? Something like this I suppose. Jane’s Inspiring Speaking journey saw her not only flourish in confidence, but also unleash a penchant for being very funny. And at the same time, she manages to be hugely profound. Great talk.
