Public speaking blogs that’ll knock your socks off

Ginger Leadership Communications

When it comes to public speaking, the information out there is limitless. Thanks to the internet, my required reading list of RSS goodness is always full of amazing public speaking blogs that add creative flair and function.

Here are a few that I absolutely adore, I’m always looking for new things to learn and new ways to inspire. That being typed, I would love to hear YOUR favorites in the comments (and perhaps give your own blog a plug).

So here is my short list of public speaking blogs that will knock your socks off… besides this one of course.

Presentation Zen –  @presentationzen

What started as a blog became a series of books and a business. Presentation Zen is an indispensable resource for anyone who is serious about presentations. Garr Reynolds provides an inspirational, chill approach to the public speaking world. Hands on and practical – this blog is a super win-win.

The Virtual Presenter –  @RogerCourville

If you need to know anything about communicating via web/audio/video conferencing (e.g., webinars/web seminars, virtual presentations, webcasts, virtual classrooms), Roger Courville is your guy. The Virtual Presenter

Power Presentations LTD – @PowerPres

If you’ve ever read a public speaking article in Forbes Magazine – it’s quite possible you’ve read Jerry Weisman. Founder of Power Presentations LTD, he’s considered one of the world’s best  corporate presentations coaches. His private client list reads like a who’s who of the world’s best companies, including the top brass at Yahoo!, Intel, Intuit, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Dolby Labs and many others. For any entrepreneur looking to up their game, this blog is a must.

The Accidental Communicator – @drjimanderson

Dr. Jim Anderson shares the knowledge that he has gained while working with individual speakers and audiences for over 25 years.

His refreshing sense of humor, deep technical knowledge about how we communicate, and his superb communication skills drive what you’ll find.

TED Talks – @TEDTalks

No list of public speaking blogs can omit the big daddy of all video bloggishness. Their archives are a treasure trove of examples for you to study how the cool kids speak. Not only that, but you can feast your eyes on just about any topic imaginable. Talk about an epic resource.

Duarte – @Duarte

I love this team. I really do. I continue to have a consistent blog crush on them for their style, pizzazz, and quirky goodness. They are innovative and daring and their blog is a definite must for your RSS menu.

Ethos3 – @Ethos3

From info on the best microphones to use to the best education techniques, this public speaking blog has it all. Very forward thinking, this blog has it all. Presentation hacks, presentation science, and a presentation podcast (loving all the things that start with ‘P’) make this addition to your RSS feed a must. It’s a must for me… so yeah. I dig them. A lot.

That’s just the short list. To create the long list I’d be here for days and get nothing else done and that sounds like lots of fun but not really massively productive. Reading some of my favorite bloggers however, IS productive. If you have any additions or want to plug your own public speaking blog please (and I mean please) leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you!
